shopping

I had an urge to check our mailbox yesterday and decided to take a peek at it on my way out just to confirm if my “intuition” is right, if there really is something interesting there for me. Nada. All I found were bills and countless promo flyers.

I went back home in the afternoon and there’s still that feeling nudging me to check the mailbox. Good thing the mailbox key was still with me, I checked it, and as I saw the brown envelope, I knew it was mine and my intuition didn’t fail me!
It’s no secret that I love receiving packages (I’m a guessing a lot of people do too!). As I felt the package I already had an inkling on what it is.
it’s one of my purchases from qoo10 (not used to calling it q0010, i still prefer to call it gmarket)!!!

I am now waiting for other stuff to arrive =)

I have been shopping deprived for the last couple of months (thanks to our wedding expenses)! I tried to get my shopping fix by doing online window shopping on blogshops and q0010 (gmarket). I now have a long list on my evernote app of all the things that I want AND NEED to buy.

At last, the shopping gods listened to my plea and was finally semi cured of my withdrawal syndrome.

I’m expecting my q0010 loot anytime soon and yesterday, my sister and I headed to Bugis and Daiso for some serious bargain shopping.

We only stayed in Bugis for two and a half hours. We actually wanted to stay longer but our pockets are burning and before holes started to form, we stopped and just went to have our lunch.

This is what we had for lunch. I know it doesn’t look nice in the photo but this was good! I also badly needed my pizza fix but they ran out of pizza, bummer!

We really wanted to stick to our bargain shopping itinerary for the day and just proceed straight to Daiso but were stopped by BHG sale and Watson’s sale! There’s always a sale in Singapore, it’s insane.

We were famished after all the shopping and bought some bread for merienda. Hello sister!

Presenting our Daiso finds! Some our mine, some are my sister’s some are for our home.

Some stuff for baking. I hope our housemates are ready to eat some experimental baked goodies!

When you’re at Daiso, you tend to purchase too much stuff, sometimes forgetting some items aren’t even worth spending $2 for!

Okay this item deserves a photo all by itself haha! I was excited when I saw this stainless steel soap! How nifty! I always try rubbing my hands into a stainless steel spoon after cooking/using garlic to get rid of the smell but I still end up with nasty smelly garlicky hands. I tried it right after cooking dinner last  night and it kinda, worked. I had to use it twice before the smell completely vanished. Good buy!

Some vanity stuff! The eyebrow pencil is actually good! I couldn’t say the same for the blush on, I have yet to try it. Wish me luck!

And some items for our kitchen! I know, the sponge ain’t worth it! Oh well, maybe these are good quality sponges thus they’re worth $2. Yes I will try to console myself with that idea 🙂

Placemats for our kitchen.

And my Bugis/BHG/Watsons haul (s0me of the other clothes are buried underneath)!!

Happy me! Thanks to my shopping partner!! Now, where is that Mc Donald’s delivery guy, I’m starving! =)

I was busy surfing the net this afternoon until I heard heavy banging on our door! I immediately knew that it’s the postman because I was expecting a package today. I’ts no secret that love receiving packages and snail mails 🙂

My kindle cover has finally arrived!! Yay!

I had a hard time looking for kindle covers locally since the kindle is not sold locally (except for a few online stores that ships kindle here) but good thing my googling skills are far from mediocre so I was able to find a local online seller that sells affordable (about $12) kindle cover! I wanted the red color but they didn’t have stock so I had to wait for a couple of days before it was sent to me. I considered getting the pink cover since they had it on hand but decided baby pink is really not my style! I’m more of a hot pink kind of girl, really!!

I love my kindle as well as my new cover! I can now bring my kindle to work! I also figured out how to be able to download kindle books from outside the US. I’m now subscribed to Amazon Prime 1 month trial so I was able to borrow books for free. Yay!

I kinda miss the smell and feel of real books but what the heck – this is a cheaper (and greener!) alternative to reading books. Now I just need a night light! 🙂

None other than Daiso! I get ecstatic when I step into Daiso stores. It’s full of useful and useless cute stuff that at $2 you just can’t resist!

We went to process our papers for something-i-cannot-disclose-here a few weeks ago and we were a tad too early. Our appointment is scheduled at 8:30am and we were there before the scheduled time and since almost everything here is efficient, the processing only took about less than half an hour. My husband took the half day off so we had extra time in our hands before lunch and before he goes off for work so I suggested we check out Daiso and Spotlight. We didn’t find anything at spotlight since the craft materials there are so expensive so off we went to Daiso. My senses just explode whenever I go to Daiso. We strategize our shopping experience by browsing thru all the stuff aisle by aisle. Daiso is one of those stores wherein you don’t really plan on buying anything but ends up buying something anyway. And that’s exactly what happened to us.

So here are our Daiso finds. Please ignore our pink polka dot bed sheet in the background.

his and hers vinyl slippers

When we saw these, we knew it’s time for our chinese new year bedroom slippers we bought at Ikea last year to retire. They aesthetically don’t look good but they’re perfect for the bedroom. I was dead set on having navy blue for my slipper and my husband will take the black one but good thing I noticed the cream colored slippers, it’s more feminine isn’t it?

tiny pan 🙂

Ok this frying pan is one of those things that you actually don’t need but buys it anyway because it’s cute! It’s almost the size of a saucer plate and I thought it’d be nice to fry eggs in it haha! Turns out not. It ain’t non-stick at all. $2 wasted!!

something for the leg :p

My husband constantly has muscle pains, leg pains, all sorts of body pains sans I have now mastered the art of massage. I don’t know what’s this for but he says it works, so be it.

for my chubby cheeks!

One day, one of my colleagues asked what food do I eat? I was like, “what food do I eat?”. Apparently, she meant what food do I eat to make my cheeks pinkish? And that made me laugh like a mad person. She thought I eat lots of super healthy (tomatoes perhaps?) food that make my cheeks flush! I actually ran out of blush-on so I was excited and a little bit hesitant when I saw these. I couldn’t exactly read the label but what the heck? If  develop pimples then I’ll stop using it but thank heavens I didn’t have any so I am continuing to use these as my cheap daily blush.

yay for my hammer eyelet set!

This has got to be my favorite find for the day!! I was actually looking for eyelet puncher to use for our wedding invites but we chanced upon this hammer eyelet set and thought why not give it a try! We tried it at home and it works! Yay!!
